    Description

Yamaha offered the Conservatory series for advanced students and professional use. Its evenly weighted action, rich bass and clear treble combined with an even scale  raised the bar on consumer pianos. I started playing piano at a very young age, attended Juilliard and was married shortly after. This piano was on display at a local music store  and I visited it often. One day I received a call from the  salesman explaining  that Count Basie had selected the piano for his local concert. If I wanted the piano new I had to act quickly. I did, and the Count had to make another choice. So around 1970 I had my piano. I believe the 70s were the glory years for Yamaha grands. Interestingly, when concert pianist Leonard Pennario (a friend of our family) came to the area for a concert, he chose to practice on my C7. What a delight it was to hear him practice.  He commented that I had a very fine  instrument.
As happens, marriage, work, children and other distractions curtailed my use of this wonderful instrument. Only lightly played over all these years. The piano is in overall excellent condition. Meticulously maintained by a Steinway trained technician, the mechanicals, action, hammers, et al are in perfect condition. The case is satin ebony and as expected has a few very minor dings here and there. There is a small spot on the lid  due to candle wax. Otherwise the case is in excellent condition. The Yamaha piano bench is included.
This C7 is a joy to play with its wonderful action and rich tone.  You will not be disappointed. I will have it given a concert tuning before it leaves but  it will probably need a touch up after delivery.
Free local delivery within 25 miles of the Binghamton NY area. Otherwise I can provide the name of an expert piano mover.
