William Knabe B Grand Piano C.1918 Partially Restored. Condition is refurbished. Soundboard repaired professionally. Last year - Shimmed by experienced tech . But it is separating due to the dry conditions in our studio. So now I am selling as is - For this reason we are selling it as is and I will cry when it leaves. The conditions are not healthy for this instrument. I think it will close right up with humidity bars - it can be filled. No buzz no issues. Amazing tone. I am not putting any more into it. - it is now for sale as it sits. Original keys - not plastic. 6’3 long burled walnut we believe. Crackly- New felts new strings new hammers new peg board. . Amazing sound. Lid has crack, finish is rough. Needs tending to - but it plays wonderfully. No refund or return. Please come and see it. The golden age William Knabe will become rare - no one got tone like they did. Weighs 800 lb. must be seen in person. Case is rough there is a crack in lid - I leave that to the new owner. It’s not going to be cost effective for to repair it for resale - but if it’s going to be your forever Piano - you can have it done.If you want as a fine instrument - yes. This is for you. She’s not pretty but she sure sings!
It would be an amazing unit for installing a player - If our studio was larger I’d do it! Recording quality - it is one of the coolest instruments I’ve ever heard or seen. Will need humidity bars -
Honestly - this is a piano that has to be heard. It has so much more potential if it were refinished and had an ampico - wow! Yes I have considered doing so - wish I had room.
