Theda Rhodium Sterling Silver Mezuzah Pendant 24" Chain Necklace 1960s NIB Waterproof
My brother is moving out of his apartment and he has stuff for me to sell.
Theda is a brand name used by the Ideal Jewelry Manufacturing Co. in Providence R.I. The company started doing business in 1921.
The mezuzah is engraved with the following:
1) The top letter shin stands for Shaddai, which is one of the names of God. Together, the three Hebrew letters shin, dalet, and yud are often interpreted as an acronym standing for Shomer Daltot Yisrael, the Guardian of the Doors of Israel.
2) the Star of David
3) the Ten Commandments, and
4) the inscription: "May the Lord bless thee and keep thee."  This verse is from Numbers 6:24-26. The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
