Description
Beautiful massive 1882 Weber Rococo style 6'3" mahogany grand piano. This piano has the highly sought after carved cabriole legs and dual fish lyre. As can be confirmed in the below linked articles, Weber grand pianos at this time were extremely well built and preferred by many of the famous players. The NY Metropolitan opera even prefered Weber during their golden era of the 1880's. Ignacy Jan Paderewski owned and toured with a 1881 concert grand of this same style. Fully and professionally restored in 2006 with hand rubbed satin lacquer finish, the piano has had all new parts rebuilt into its action, a new tight pin block, and is basically new inside and out. There is only one tiny ding on the front of the keyboard cover, which of course is not visible when open. This style of piano is of course a fantastic conversation piece and the 6'3" size is perfect for living room size playing. Also, the mahogany is a perfect case wood for homes where a warmer tone is usually perferred. The action has been rebuilt to maintain the firmer feel of the 1800's as opposed to the easy looser action of modern made pianos. The keys are in perfect condition. This is an opportunity to own a gorgeous piece of furniture that houses a high quality period piano that also provides the playing experience of a bygone era. Also included is an antique period piano stool and regular matching bench. I will help arrange shipping to anywhere in the US. Preferred payment would be a certified cashiers check by registered mail. Please ask any and all questions and I'll also be more than happy to talk by phone.http://weberpiano.com/weber-history
