    Description

    Aiwa AM-F70 MiniDisc Player Recorder
I bought this in 2000 and used it in the early 2000s to record live music from local bands when I lived in Austin.
This unit has been COMPREHENSIVELY tested. Recording works from both S/PDIF-TOSLINK optical input and microphone input. All buttons work on the main unit and the remote including jog wheel. Audio output is clean. Backlights work. The case does show signs of wear. Minor scuffs and scratches.
IMPORTANT! I am including a 3D printed battery case. These units used proprietary Li-Ion batteries that cannot be purchased anymore (see photos). Being at least 20 years old, there are no original batteries in the world that are usable. The 3D printed plastic case will accept a 10440 lithium rechargeable battery. AAA batteries will not work! I am including 2 brand new 10440 batteries. These are 350mAh compared to the original battery's 700mAh. They will not last as long as the original, but I am including two. The only option to use a larger capacity battery is to solder one in. I can do this for an extra charge if you would prefer it to the smaller swappable batteries. These batteries can be charged in the device, or they can be charged with an external lithium battery charger (AA/AAA NiMH battery charger WILL NOT work!). If you would like an external charger, I can include a new one for an additional cost.
I am also including the original external battery pack which uses 3 AA batteries. The battery pack is very clean, but the clasp is broken so it needs a rubber band to stay closed.
I am including 7 blank discs. One is sealed, the rest have been used but they all have been tested and erased. To record music to these discs with lossless quality, you will need a device with digital optical output (S/PDIF TOSLINK). See photos for the port you will need. You can record with a line out, but it will not be lossless. Since optical outputs are not common anymore, I will include an optical cable ONLY IF REQUESTED. No extra charge for this, but you must request it. I can also prerecord lossless music onto these discs at an additional cost of per disc. I have a fairly large music library and Amazon music with lossless downloads. Please contact me so we can discuss the music you would like recorded.
