Some call this a "baby" grand but officially it is a full sized and more importantly a full sounding grand piano. This is the Model M, the Steinway S is their only baby grand. This piano was refurbished and refinished by an expert and plays as good as it looks. It has the original keyboard (yes, that matters - a lot!). Buying one of these isn't easy, I don't envy shoppers especially when you see Steinway grands advertised from as low as 00 to upwards of 000. If you're in doubt, hire a pro to go over it for you because if you're paying any less for one these, you're buying garbage. Paying more than ,000 means you might be paying too much. Also, consider the age (era, decade, etc.). Steinway had good and let's just say "less than good" decades. The Golden Era was considered one of the best: They had hit their stride, had the best raw materials to work with and hadn't yet started with the corner cutting and penny pinching. If someone tells you "Golden Era" is not a thing or that it doesn't matter, you'll see they are a store that doesn't have any to sell (like that dealer in Utah). The only better built models are the current ones, however, those don't enjoy as good a soundboard because the wood is too new - older Steinways used properly aged Sitka Spruce from very large and VERY OLD trees (which unfortunately are no longer are available). A new Steinway grand will cost you 5 to 10 times as much. You can see and learn more on pianomart dot com.
This wonderful Steinway is now 100 years old and is officially an antique.
